Not Delayed! Sony Ericsson Xperia X1
Sony Ericsson’s equivalent to the Apple iPhone and Nokia’s N96 is not going to be delayed - that is according to Richard Dorman a Senior Marketing manager for Sony Ericsson.
Many fans were disappointed when it appeared online as though the Xperia was going to be delayed until 2009.
The Xperia X1 is Sony Ericsson’s first mobile phone to run on a Microsoft Windows Mobile platform. Many had believed this was possibly the reason for a delay.
It has been confirmed though that the Xperia X1 is due to be available in Q3/Q4 of 2008 - so at least it is this year we can get our hands on it.
Many rumours had been flying about with regards to Sony Ericsson’s next smart-phone.
Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X1 comes with many exciting features including 3″ wide touchscreen, wide pitch QWERTY, 3G, push email, 3.2 mega pixel camera - as well as its undoubted unique styling.

Sony Ericsson W890i
If you are a music lover the W890i from Sony Ericsson may hit the right note for you.
Firstly the W890i comes equipped with a huge 2GB of capacity to store your music, is powered by the latest Walkman player software, built in stereo speakers and HSDPA connectivity for fast downloads.
Encased in brushed aluminium the phone feels quality and looks great, is super light at 78g, and has a colour TFT screen and user friendly keypad.
Other features include a 3.2 Megapixel Camera, Walkman/Radio, Video Record/Playback.
Sony Ericsson do seem to have addressed the criticism they received of their W880i model by incorporating an FM Radio and changing the keypad. In summary the W890i is by far the best music capable phone on the market, if you love and want mobile music you will love the W890i.
One feature we have to highlight for debate though is SensMe, this is a facility on the W890i that enables the phone to create a playlist according to your mood and temperature, we haven’t seen such a feature in other phones to date so thumbs up for the innovation but if it actually works we do wonder if you are feeling sad the last thing you want to hear is a selection of sad music that would only compound the feeling?
Is this a prime example of over design? What new innovations or features would you like to see manufacturers introduce? Let us know in comments.
The Sony Ericsson W890i deals are now live, we also have Sony Ericsson W890i pay as you go offers.

Sony Xperia X1
Hitting the UK mid/end 2008, the Xperia X1 looks to be Sony’s answer to Nokia’s announcement of the N96 which is also due out around the same time.
The Xperia is Sony’s first multimedia touchscreen device, the first Sony device to run on Windows Mobile and it creates the first sub brand from Sony Ericsson with their popular Cyber-shot and Walkman devices originating from Sony.
Firstly the design is distinctive, an Arc slider design, this gives the phone a unique feel, simply slide the screen upwards to reveal the wide-pitch QWERTY keyboard. In addition a 3inch Wide touchscreen VGA display, black metal body, it looks very sophisticated and stylish.
The Xperia lets you navigate the phone via 3 different methods with a full QWERTY Keyboard, Touchscreen and optical joystick catering for everyone.
What’s on the inside? running on Windows Mobile most will be familiar with the web, organiser and multimedia applications, combine that with quick and easy access via 3G internet (lacking in the current iPhone) the Xperia experience looks very promising.
Other features that add further appeal to the Xperia X1 include a 3.2 Megapixel Camera, Video, Push email and a truly mobile experience with 3G, Internet and Wifi features.
Sony are pitching the Xperia at top end consumers who want the best of everything and it certainly seems to tick all the boxes, further more Sony Ericsson’s marketing spend is estimated to increase 25% this year so expect to see a large scale marketing campaign in 2008 for the Xperia X1.
Don’t forget to keep checking as we’ll have the Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 deals as soon as they are available. Let us know what you think with your Sony Ericsson Xperia X1 reviews.
