Voiced by comedian Harry Hill, the campaign highlights include red telephone boxes, Bobbies on the beat, Grannies, rural post offices in villages with weird names, fancy dress, Dad's who can't dance and cheese rolling. The ad ends by highlighting the love of a good bargain, the Full Monty tariff, which offers unlimited calls, texts and data from just £36 a month.

The ad is set to air for the first time over the coming weekend on all major commercial TV stations, starting off with a 90 second ad, followed by shorter 60 second and 30 second ads to support the campaign in the coming weeks.

Spencer McHugh, Director of Brand at Everything Everywhere, the parent company of T-Mobile, said: “Britain is really enjoying the limelight this year, so the campaign has been designed to capture and celebrate that sentiment of British goodwill. As we head into an exciting year with the Queen's Jubilee and a Summer of sport ahead of us, we believe that we have really tapped into the feeling of the nation with a campaign that can't help but raise a smile.”

The ad which will start showing on TV from this weekend can be seen below:

Whilst there is no doubt about the appeal of the Full Monty tariff, with unlimited calls, texts and internet, the whole package may seem a bit much for some. If your call and text usage is really low, and you mainly browse the web, then it may be that the range of data add ons will include something of use.

The Data Boosters come in four varieties, starting from basic internet with a Fair Use Policy of 100 MB per month, up to Standard Internet with a FUP of 750 MB, to Extra Internet with a FUP of 1.5 GB to Super Internet, which carries a FUP of 5 GB per month.

In addition to the network data package, Standard, Extra and Super Internet all carry an inclusive allowance of WiFi data, with 3 GB on Standard and Extra Internet and 10 GB on the top Super Internet deal.

The basic Booster is charged at £4 per month, with Standard Internet at £9 per month, Extra Internet at £14 per month and Super Internet at £19 per month, in addition to the standard line rental on your tariff.

For the full range of tariffs and offers on T-Mobile, see our T-Mobile deals page.

The Full Monty tariff will offer existing and new T-Mobile customers unlimited calls, data and text, for a flat monthly fee, with no fair use restrictions.

Available from the 1st February, the Full Monty deal includes four variants, starting from £36 per month, with additional packages from £41, £46 and £61 per month.

The £36 package offer unlimited calls to other T-Mobile handsets, unlimited text and unlimited data, with 2,000 minutes to other networks. The other three packages all offer unlimited data, unlimited texts, and unlimited calls to other networks as well as other T-Mobile users.

The unlimited calls package covers calls to all standard UK landline numbers, and standard UK mobile numbers – calls to 08 numbers, and 070 personal number services will have their own set charges, as will picture messages, which will not be included in the text messaging package.

The data package will also include full tethering, allowing you to connect devices to the web using the handset's data connection. Additionally, the Full Monty deal gives unlimited WiFi access, via BT Openzone, as well as T-Mobile's own T-Zones.

“Over the past two years, we have seen a rise in mobile internet use of over 250 per cent, which reflects the consumer trend of being 'always-on' wherever they are. However, consumers also still want to retain a more personal level of communication by calling or sending a text,” said Ben Fritsch, Head of Propositions at T-Mobile. “The Full Monty has been designed for customers who want the peace of mind that there are absolutely no limits on their allowances, whilst also knowing they are getting value for money.”

In addition to the Full Monty data package, T-Mobile will be introducing a new range of tariffs from the 1st February, offering a range of deals to suit the needs of a variety of users.

For the latest details and offering from T-Mobile, see our T-Mobile deals page.

T-Mobile are set to unveil a new tariff from the beginning of February, offering consumers a truly unlimited data package, set to rival the One Plan package on offer from Three.

The contract package, dubbed 'The Full Monty', is set to come in at £36 per month, and as well as offering unlimited data, the tariff will also offer unlimited text messages, unlimited T-Mobile to T-Mobile calls and 2,000 cross network and landline minutes.

The package is rumoured to be a fixed deal, regardless of handset chosen, although more expensive devices such as the iPhone may carry an upfront charge. Contract length is said to be 24 months.

It is also suggested the package will offer free calls to 08 numbers, as well as give free access to Voicemail.

It is interesting to see T-Mobile planning to bring a competitive package to the One Plan to market, as until now Three have had a clear playing field to attract smartphone users who wish to use their handset without worrying about data limits. Now that there could be a competing package on the market, it serves to give smartphone owners an alternative option, which can only be of benefit to consumers.

Whether services like tethering will be included in the deal is still to be confirmed. We will bring more details when we have it.

Virgin Mobile operates as a virtual network, using T-Mobile coverage.

Initially the Orange network is available for calls, text messages and 3G data, using GPRS, with 3G connectivity set to come online sometime next year.

The additional coverage is available to all Virgin customers, whether on contract or Pay As You Go, and is available at no additional charge. The name on the display of some handsets may change to Orange when 'roaming', but for most customers it will remain as Virgin.

Executive Director of Home Phone and Mobile at Virgin Media, Graeme Oxby, said: “Virgin Media customers already enjoy the UK's fastest broadband and most advanced TV services, now thy will benefit from enhanced mobile coverage too. With our combination of fixed and mobile serices, we are uniquely positioned to cater for a new era of 'always on' connectivity.”

The service will be rolled out to all Virgin customers during October, with customers receiving a text message when they have been set up. For customers who want to access the service straight away, simply text YES from your Virgin Mobile handset to 789777, or register online by visiting www.virginmedia.com/coverage

UK Mobile operator T-Mobile has fallen foul of advertising laws, following their recent campaign offering unlimited internet on any £25+ T-Mobile Tariff.

The problem came about as the 'unlimited' internet actually had some restrictions on it, and these days if you claim truly unlimited, then it has to be so.

The advertising campaign had been running online, in press adverts and with giant billboard posters, claiming to offer 'truly unlimited internet with no fair use policy from £25-a-month'.

However, a read through the small print found that there were restrictions in place, including using your phone as a modem, known as tethering, using your phone for peer-to-peer file sharing or for making internet calls.

Nine complaints were received by the Advertising Standards Authority, who decided the claims of unlimited internet were misleading, because of these restrictions.

T-Mobile argued that their mobile broadband offering had no fair use policy in terms of the amount of data transferred in general web browsing and downloads, but admitted to blocking customers from 'unusual types of internet activity'.

A statement from the ASA said: “T-Mobile did not consider that those types of exclusions were significant limitations to the internet service as customers could perform all the usual activities of viewing web pages, streaming video, downloading content and social networking as much as they wanted without limitation. However, stating 'truly unlimited' was a very strong claim – beyond the usual 'unlimited' claims used in advertising. Because we consider that exclusions to an internet plan advertised as 'truly unlimited' would be contrary to consumers expectations and because we understood that restrictions had been imposed on the plan, we concluded that the claim was misleading.”

After the finding, the ASA concluded that the claim 'truly unlimited internet' must not continue to appear again in its current form.

The largest proportion of complaints received about Three related to disputed charges, and customer service issues.

Vodafone came next in the list, only just beaten by Virgin Mobile, who have a large enough percentage of the mobile market to be considered for the survey.

Leading the pack was O2, who have consistently had the lowest number of complaints registered from its customers from Q4 2010 to Q2 2011.

A Three spokesman said: “We are not happy with the figures but we know what is behind them and we are working hard to make improvements.”

The figures are calculated with the number of complaints in proportion to the customer base of each network provider, enabling a fair assessment to be made across all networks.
