In a continuing endeavour to provide a top class mobile experience, Google have revamped another of their mobile services, this time updating the Google Mobile image search for iPhone 3.0 and above firmware and Android 2.1 devices.
Mobile Image search is one of the areas that is seeing a huge advance in data usage, and Google have changed the screen layout to help you locate the image you are searching for. Typically, image search can involve multiple page views, so Google are presenting the search results in a uniform thumbnail size which makes it easier to maximize the number of images seen on screen at any one time.
The speed of page loading has also been improved, delivering a better experience for the end user, and you can swipe through to see next or previous result pages, or tap on the ‘Next’ and ‘Previous’ page buttons. Improvements have also been made when it comes to viewing images; images are presented as large as possible, with a black background which enhances the image itself. The page buttons fade nicely from view and you can easily browse through the picture results by swiping from image to image
