Living in the UK, it is easy to look over at our American cousins and sympathise with them, in regards to the superiority of the UK (and European) mobile markets. But once in a while they get some decent apps launched first that, quite frankly, they don't deserve! (Alright, I'll admit it, I'm just jealous)
A while ago we brought you news of an exciting update to Google Maps for Android, that added voice navigation capabilities to this excellent utility, an update that was for the US market only initially and only available on Android OS 2.0
Well, it seems that this has now been expanded, now being available for Android 1.6, otherwise known as Donut. Whilst this too is still for owners of Android devices in the US, it does mean that when this update is made available to the UK and Europe, it will be available to a much wider audience, given the still rare presence of a high number of Android 2.0 devices.
In America, Google are offering the Google Maps update as a gift for Thanksgiving. Perhaps we can hope for a Google Maps Christmas gift?
