HTC Sense.com

When HTC announced the HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z they also announced HTCSense.com, a service that will allows users to back up content from their HTC phones. In anticipation of the launch of the two new Desire handsets, the HTCSense.com website has gone live.

Through HTCSense.com it will be possible to backup content and data including apps and text messages, and as well as allowing for back up of content from the handset, users can also remotely lock and wipe handsets if they are lost or stolen.

Given that transfer of contacts from one device to another is a big problem for many users, the service offered through this web service could prove to be invaluable, as well as offering piece of mind knowing that important information is safely stored online, and can be prevented from falling into the wrong hands. Other cool features that can be accessed via HTCSense.com include remotely diverting your number to another terminal, and the option to increase the ringtone to the loudest setting. Whilst that may seem a pointless option, it could actually prove useful if a handset is misplaced when the ringtone is set to silent. By logging in to the website, the ringtone can be set to loud, and you can try and track your device by calling it and tracing the phone by the ringtone.

Initially the service will only work with the new HTC handsets, but HTC are looking into the possibility of rolling the service out to other HTC devices.
