I'm having a nightmare with the battery too - sometimes it says it's full after 2-3 hours on charge, sometimes it takes over 10 hours to charge. Sometimes this charge lasts for a couple of days, sometimes less than half a day - and I'm using it a similar amount every time.

For example: Yesterday my phone ran out of battery after 2 days. I put it on charge and it said it was full after only a couple of hours, only to die again by 8pm. I left my phone charging overnight last night and by this morning it said it was full again (and please disconnect to save power), but only 5 hours later it has now died again! Other times I've had the icon on my screen telling me I have 2 bars of battery and 10 minutes later (no calls/texts/anything) it starts beeping at me to say it's run out. I never have bluetooth on and I live in a city so it's not running itself down searching for a signal. It's infuriating, and I'm often stranded for a day without any means of contacting people.

Not tried contacting Orange or LG yet but as the problem seems to be getting worse I think I might, especially as I know I'm not alone (or going mad!).

Thank you so much for all of these comments. I was about to get this phone from Orange as the phone I wanted (Samsung Tocco Ultra) was out of stock and I'm so glad I read this review. I will definately wait for the Samsung now.

Please help me! I bought this phone just because of wi-fi (I bought it free from network). It finds all the wi-fi networks ok, but when I try to connect to one it says "connection to -name of the network- has failed". I went to replace it, and the new one did the same. Now they're telling me to go to Vodafone technical support, I'll go there tomorrow. I'm in Portugal btw. Maybe I have some setting wrong? I've read comments on some forums from other people here who can connect to wi-fi ok, but they never answer my comments. Can someone please help me?

Had my replacement GT505 for exactly a month when the same issues (Jan 16th, above) recurred.
Utter unresponsiveness when on.

Software related - seems to be an increasingly common problem, from what the nice folks at Orange were saying. Shame LG customer services are about as responsive as their phones.

Another one returned... number 3 arrived this evening.

They'd better give me a different phone when this one breaks.

Had it for about 2 months now, had about 3 handset replacements and a battery replacement. Problem being it just turns itself off all the time! in my bag when I'm asleep! my last LG did the same its just too delicate or something. Battery life not the best either, again another factor I found with the old LG (secret) I dont know why I keep getting LGs tbh.

Its got an amazing camera and the screen. QWERTY keyboards a fail though. Complete shambles for texting I can now never be bothered texting anyone back. Also wouldnt recommend getting a big memory card and filling it up because it slows the phone down dramatically.

Its a good phone but I'm still trying to get a Blackberry off Orange, might just go buy one.

I too have had battery problems since I first got the phone last August. I have had 4, yes 4 replacement handsets and a replacement battery and still it's not holding it's charge. I have been on the phone to Orange, each time they fob me off with a different excuse as to why it's not got a decent battery life! You'll laugh at some of them!!

The next 'test' they want me to do is leave the sim card out over night and monitor how quickly the battery dies. I'll keep you posted on this. So frustrated, I just want a phone that I can rely on. Doesn't have to be all singing, all dancing! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr.

I'll be quoting Maz's comment from the consumer law when they call me back tomorrow to see how the 'test' went. Let's hope we get somewhere!!

Can anyone explain why the videos I have recorded on the phone have no sound when uploaded to the PC and laptop. They are fine when viewed on the phone-really frustrating as I have some on there to upload to Youtube! I'm not computer literate but my son and bro in law are and they cant work out why there is no sound either. Havent phoned Orange yet-the touch screen locking before you have time to press numbers does my head in!

Got the phone yesterday and haven't had many major issues apart from it being a hell of a lot more complicated than my last phone (a, um, Nokia 3310!!). A bit worried about people saying that wi-fi isn't really wi-fi and I will still be charged..? Anyone know anymore on this?

Also, people are suggesting to get the Opera web browser. However, there are two versions: Opera Mobile and Opera Mini. Does anyone know which one to get for the phone, how to get it, and if it will stop us being charged for using the internet?

Thanks for everyones comments, I hope those who are struggling resolve their issues... and those who aren't... help us all please!!
