Nokia Beta Labs is an ideas website, where cool apps are developed to be tried on various Nokia smartphone handsets. Sometimes the apps don't make full status, but the potential is always there. The latest idea to come from Beta Labs is Nokia Drop, an app that allows you to change options on your device remotely.
Changes are made to the handset via push, with the option to currently change the wallpaper on the phone, send images to the handset and push URL's.
To set up Nokia Drop on your Nokia phone, you will need to install a browser extension and the Nokia Drop app on your handset. Once done, you will be able to drop any picture or URL to your handset straight from your PC. All of this is done using push notification, so no need for any cable or Bluetooth connection.
Nokia Drop can be downloaded from Nokia Beta Labs (sign up is required, but is free) and is designed to work on S^3 handsets, (Nokia N8-00, Nokia C6-01, Nokia C7-00, Nokia E7-00 and S60 5th Edition (X6-00, 5228, 5230, 5235 Ovi Music Unlimited, 5530 Express Music handsets, C6-00, N97, N97 Mini. The web browser extension will work on the latest version of Chrome, Firefox 3.6 and Firefox 4.
