Opera Mini is one of our favourite applications and it is prevalent across the world, installed on millions of handsets. This gives Opera a unique insight into the browsing habits of consumers, and they periodically release this data, giving an insight into users' browsing habits. The latest 'State of the Mobile Web report has been released, and it shows the top ten websites accessed by mobile users in the UK:
1. Facebook.com
2. Google.com
3. bbc.co.uk
4. Yahoo.com
5. Wikipedia.org
6. Live.com
7. Youtube.com
8. my.opera.com
9. pocketgear.com
10. ebay.co.uk
No surprises that Facebook is most popular, and Ebay manages to sneak back into the list too, after an absence of some five months. Opera also determine the handsets that Opera Mini is installed on, and that makes interesting reading:
1. LG KC910
2. Sony Ericsson W395
3. Nokia 6300
4. Nokia 2330
5. Sony Ericsson S312
6. LG KE970 (LG Shine)
7. Nokia 6700
8. Nokia 6700
9. Nokia 5800
10. Nokia E71
Nokia dominate the list with six of the ten handsets, the other four split evenly between LG and Sony Ericsson. The list also provides an interesting insight into mobile handsets used on a day by day basis in the UK, with mid tier handsets ruling the roost.
What do you think? Is your favourite site listed, or do you browse to other sites? Do you use Opera Mini, or prefer to stick with your handsets default browser? Drop a note in the comments and let us know.
