Figures from Analysts Flurry, show that in the last week of 2011, 1.2 billion apps were downloaded across the iOS and Android platforms. The busiest day for downloads was Christmas Day, as many users activated their new smartphones, and set about downloading apps from the Apple App Store and the Android Market.
